THE LESTER B. PEARSON INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship at the University of Toronto is provided as a wonderful opportunity for intelligent international students to study at one of the world’s best universities. The scholarship program is intended to recognize students who have exceptional academic achievements and creativity, and those who are recognized as leaders in their school. A special emphasis is placed on the fact that the student has the potential to contribute positively to the global community.
These scholarships are awarded annually to recognize outstanding students from around the world including international students studying at Canadian High School.
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships cover books, tuition, incidental fee, and full residence support for four years. The scholarship is only tenable at the University of Toronto. Approximately 37 students are offered this scholarship every year.
To become a Pearson Scholar, you must be nominated by your school to apply for undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. Ask your school counselor to get nominated. Once you are nominated and have applied to the University of Toronto, you will be sent a secured link to the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship application.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible to apply for the Pearson International Scholarship for September 2018 intake, you must:
- Be an international student i.e. a non-Canadian requiring a study permit
- Have completed your final year of secondary school or have graduated after June 2017
- begin your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2018.
Application process
- Receive a nomination from your school
- Apply to study at the University of Toronto to begin your studies in 2018 and complete your application for admission by appropriate deadlines
- Once the university officials receive your nomination and you have applied to the university, you can complete the online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application.
